...Deceased was born Sept. 15, 1875 on the same place where he lived and died, born in a sod house built by his father, Wm. Phillips, in the days of the Indians, about four miles north of Linn Grove....
....Interment was made in the Linn Grove cemetery under the modest auspices of the M.W.A......
...A month's confinement with lung fever and quick consumption, in spite of all medical skill, ended his quiet life, one of moral rectitude and integrity, prepared to meet its end.
